A Search For The Best Potty Training Chair…ever.
We are currently in full-blown potty-training mode at our house, a task that every mom looks forward to, right?? Well I now have some insight to offer as to the best potty training chair for both boys and girls!
When it comes to potty training, you need the best. As overwhelming as the process is, choosing the right potty seat will definitely take some of the stress away from the process by saving you frustration and precious time! After a couple of dud-purchases, the one and only potty seat for this mom of 3 is the Sumer Infant-My Size Potty.
I discovered this cute little training potty by accident. I was grocery shopping one day and noticed a mom walking out with one of these. I originally wanted one just because it’s so adorable, but after some research and hands-on experience from my kiddos, I can definitely attest to it being all that and the bag of potato chips that Amazon reviews says that it is!
This potty training chair offers some great features that first-time potty trainers may not know to look for. If you’re looking for a less messy, smoother transitioning, and reasonably priced bathroom accessory for your little tot, My Size Potty doesn’t disappoint!
What makes My Size Potty the best potty training chair?
As I already mentioned, this potty chair looks just like a real toilet, allowing your little toddler to make a comfortable transition to the full-sized toilet.
Potty training my first child was a huge failure. I was totally confident going into it after reading books about the psychology and best tactics for igniting motivation, but what I paid little attention to was the section that talked about potty chairs. My daughter picked up on the logistics of potty training pretty quickly, but heavens, I had the hardest time getting her to transition from the Minnie Mouse adorned potty training chair I thought would be a cute idea to the “big potty”. I had to bring her little squatty potty with us everywhere we went because who wouldn’t want to tinkle on pink Minnie Mouse?
Toilet Handle with Flushing Sound
The toilet handle, which looks just like the one that which you’d see on a full-sized potty, actually makes the flushing sound! This is another great way to not only prepare your youngster for the future of toilet-flushing, but to allow them to experience the true and ever-so-glorious reward of flushing the toilet.
Splash Guard — best potty chair for boy!
If you have a boy, repeat. if you are looking for the best potty chair for your boy who makes a mess in the bathroom, you’re going to love this feature. The potty training chair has a removable plastic splash guard piece that keeps streams from shooting across the bathroom. This has really helped my 2-year-old son.
Just like a full-sized toilet, this little potty chair even has a flip-up lid–another reason this is the best potty chair for boys! This is a great way to teach youngsters to close the lid after going potty, since someday they’ll be flipping the lip up when they learn to stand and tinkle. I’m all about forming habits early!
Storage Compartment for Wipes/Potty Books
The top of this little training potty is actually removable, giving you a nice little storage cubby! I use this compartment to store wipes for messy experiences, but it is large enough to hold a couple of books and a potty sticker chart (free download) as well!
If your little one is struggling with concentration, coloring pages are a great thing to store in the top compartment. My son sometimes gets distracted, or tries to hurry himself off the potty so he can continue piecing his train tracks together, but coloring pages and reading books does wonders in distracting him to sit just a little longer.
Another great feature about this training potty chair is that the bowl is completely removable, making it easy to clean and sterilize before it’s next use.
My Size Potty — The Drawback
Not The Best Travel Potty Chair
Although I love the My Size Potty for the house, it isn’t the easiest to throw in the trunk of the car without removing the back piece. It is a little bulkier than some other training potties on the market. That being said, it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me. I love my travel
