Today was day two of the Whole30, 30 day reset.
Whole30 Day 2 Energy Level: My energy level today was probably a 6/10. I did have to take a nap, but that could also be because I’m 5 months pregnant.
Whole30 Day 2 Willpower Strength: I felt very strong again today. I am not having any sugar cravings, just really missing my right-before-bed snacks.
Whole30 Day 2 Emotional State: I felt normal, emotionally.
Whole30 Day 2 Biggest Challenge: Holy headache! My headache on day two of the Whole30 challenge has been off the charts. I am trying to avoid taking Tylenol because I don’t want anything to disrupt my healing gut.
Whole30 Day 2 Journal
Overall, whole30 day 2 wasn’t a bad or overly challenging day.
Morning: I woke up on day 2 of the Whole30 challenge feeling normal, ready for my cup of coffee with my Nutpods creamer. I was able to find an AWESOME coffee creamer substitute (online only) that actually tastes like coffee creamer. It is also Whole30 compliant, woo woo! (Here is the link if you’re interested in trying it). I then made another breakfast frittata for the kids and myself (found on page 209) and headed out the door for a 4 mile run.
Holy headache. After my run, that’s when it hit. World’s. Worst. Headache. I tried chugging water but found no relief.
Lunch: For lunch today, I had leftover Whole30 compliant spaghetti (page 324) with a side salad and a few roasted sweet potatoes. I was hoping that food would relieve my massive headache, but found no relief.
I took a short nap with my kiddos today (less than 30 minutes) and woke up feeling the same way. I know that headaches are very common in this stage of the detox/reset process, but I didn’t expect it to linger throughout the day.
Dinner: For dinner, I made a huge salad with chicken, avocado, roasted sweet potato, egg, tomato, and onion with the Greek Dressing recipe from the Whole30 book.
I also had an apple after dinner because I just wasn’t feeling satisfied and needed something sweet.
A few hours after dinner I started feeling a little snack-ish, wanting to scour the pantry but I refused. Instead, I decided to go to bed early to try and get rid of the nagging headache.
