Unisex Diaper Bag
Just Say “No” to the Shoulder Bag
Choosing the perfect diaper bag is something I didn’t put a lot of thought into as I built my baby registry with my first child. My motto: pick the cutest diaper bag you can find! Boy was I wrong! I quickly found that the cloth Vera Bradley shoulder bag that I couldn’t live without just wasn’t practical. Not only did it slip off my shoulder every time I carried the infant car seat, but it also somehow managed to eat my baby’s pacifiers in the most inopportune moments… Okay, not really, but they always managed to make their way to the very bottom of the diaper bag, leaving me no other option than to dump the whole darn thing. Not practical.
Backpack Diaper Bags Are The Way To Go
I then discovered the glorious backpack diaper bag. It’s what every mom needs, end of story. There are so many to choose from though, so I did a few trial runs (in the store, of course) before picking what worked best for me. I’ll walk you through the very best backpack diaper bags.
1. Itzy Ritzy Boss Backpack Diaper Bag »$150 | Best Diaper Bag For Two+
This is my favorite backpack diaper bag, especially if you are looking for a diaper bag for two or more children. The high quality material makes it pretty much indestructible (something you won’t see in most other name brand diaper bags). Not only is the style of this backpack diaper bag on point (it’s adorable, right?), but the functionality is top notch.
The diaper bag has a total of 17 compartments. Yes, 17! There are 5 external pockets that were very thought out. In the front of the backpack you have your two main pockets, which is where I keep the essentials, like my cell phone and of course baby pacifiers, and coffee money (more caffeine, please!). You also have your two insulated bottle pockets. Inside the bag you have the remaining 12 pockets (which you can see in the image shown below)
One thing you don’t actually see in the image above is that this diaper bag has a base made from moccasin soles to keep the bag clean. How many times do we set our diaper bags down on dirty floors? No one wants to walk around with a dirty diaper bag. This is huge for me!
I also love the changing mat in this particular backpack diaper bag. It may not seem like a big deal that it is labeled, but you will always know which side is clean and germ-free.
There is also an add-on you can purchase separately to keep pacifiers clean and organized. The backpack diaper bag add-on can be found here.
2. HapTim Baby Backpack Diaper Bag » $57 | Best Diaper Bag For Cloth Diapers
This is another great backpack diaper bag option, especially if you are on a budget. You can’t beat the price (especially when purchased from Amazon). This particular bag is one of Amazon’s bestsellers because of its sleek design and compartment optimization. If you have lots of “stuff”, or simply just love being organized, this backpack will quickly become your most treasured purchase.
One great feature with this HapTim Backpack Diaper Bag is that you can quickly and easily strap the backpack to your stroller with the snappable handle. This diaper bag is also waterproof, and made with very high-quality fabric which will ensure the life of the bag. The company also gives you a 90 day warranty on the bag, and you have 30 days to return the item if it doesn’t provide exactly what you’re looking for.
The storage component of this backpack diaper bag can be very deceiving from the outside, and it is one of the reasons that this bag is such a hot commodity! Due to the storage in this bag, this is by far the best diaper bag for cloth diapers. Low profile, tons of storage…I’m sold! Check out the 17 pockets this backpack diaper bag has. They’re everywhere! My favorite pocket is the side pocket where baby wipes fit perfectly.
Also included in your purchase of this bag is a changing mat, which is always a Mama-must-have.
3. Bag Nation Diaper Bag Backpack » $60 | Best unisex Diaper Bag/Dad Diaper Bag Backpack
You know a company is offering an awesome product when they give you a lifetime warranty, and that’s just what Bag Nation gives you when you purchase one of their diaper bag backpacks.
The thing I love most about this particular diaper bag is that is it very gender-neutral. If you are sharing the bag with your husband, or ever expect him to carry it, then I would suggest getting a bag that he will feel comfortable wearing. This particular backpack design will allow him to carry it comfortably.
This backpack diaper bag also offers some really great features, like it’s built-in stroller strap buckles and
unique pocket placement. The bag has a total of 14 pockets and each one is strategized to help you keep everything you could possibly need organized and in place. I especially love how there is a designatedwipe pocket, as well as a changing mat for ease in changing diapers. Another bonus that this backpack diaper bag offers is it’s included sundry bag. What more could a mom need??
This particular diaper bag is not waterproof, but it is made with high-quality fabric that is water resistant, making it easy to clean up.
