Follow this simple tutorial on how to add FREE fonts to Cricut Design Space.
In this tutorial, you will learn the easy steps involved in adding fonts to Cricut Design Space, and the best part about it–all of the fonts are completely free! It’s so easy, and too simple to actually pay money for fonts. Save your money for that fancy vinyl you’ve been wanting to buy, not paying for fonts!
First, you’ll want to close out of any open Cricut Design Space tabs in your browser. (You may even log out if you want to be sure your program is completely shut down your web browser, go to Dafont
This is my favorite font site because the fonts are all categorized, and the download speed is very quick!
After you find a font you would like to download, select download. You should then see a box appear at the bottom of your browser (unless you have your downloads set up differently).
Once the file is downloaded (it will be in .zip form), you’ll open the download, and double click the folder to open the document.
When you open the file, it should look like this
Now, you’ll open the file that has .ttf at the end as shown in the photo below.
When you double click the .ttf file, a smaller box will open.
Next, select Install Font. This is how you will download the font to your computer.
When the font is installed, you will see a screen with a list of all of the fonts on your computer. Make sure the font you just installed appears on the list, otherwise, there was an error during the installation process and you will have to repeat the process.
Now that your font has been installed on your computer, you can open Design Space in your browser. You will then create text.
The default font is Cricut Sans, but we want to change this to our new font we’ve just downloaded, so select the down arrow in the box labeled font from the top menu bar.
Here you’ll search for the font that you’ve just downloaded. **NOTE: If you don’t see your font, you may need to log out of Design Space and log back in.
That’s all there is to it! You can download as many fonts as you please! Just remember to close all of your Design Space browsers first.
